Anthony began playing the trumpet aged three in Toronto Canada and had his first professional solo concert at the age of 8. Following his family’s emigration to the UK he was the youngest trumpet student to enter the Royal College of Music Junior Department where his talent was nurtured by Edgar Riches. He continued his studies at the Royal College of Music and then moved to Paris to continue his studies with Pierre Thibaud for a further three years at the Paris Conservatoire. Anthony was a finalist at the Prague Spring International Trumpet which launched his solo career and he was invited to perform with the Slovak National Orchestra, London Festival Orchestra and Prague Symphony Orchestra. He became a musical ambassador for British Council performing British music in concerts throughout Europe and the former Eastern bloc. As soloist and a member of a number of contemporary music ensembles, Anthony has given more than 60 world premieres of ensemble and solo works for trumpet.
Following an accident in 2001 Anthony’s career was cut short and he was virtually unable to play again until 2017. In early 2018, following his full recovery, Anthony began performing once again beginning with solo performances in Sydney Australia. Anthony founded the Australian Brass Collective with colleagues from the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and began performing once again as an ensemble and soloist in Australia.
Anthony returned to Europe in 2022 establishing himself in Portugal where he has performed at the International Festival of Sacred Music and Organ along with numerous concerts throughout Portugal, France, Germany and the UK. Always exploring new musical landscapes He and Joao Santos performed the first noted ensemble concert with Trumpet and Art Harmonium in Leiria in 2025.
